The important thing to take away from this video, however, are the great boobs on the model. A+++!!!

2 questions pls
1) Did Mark use a flash near the end? there didn't seem to be a mention of a flash used.
2) When metering, should one turn off all other ambient light sources?

Big ol' fake boobies.

Tried so hard to listen to ya but all I could think about was imagining your model tearing off her blouse. Omfg those sweater puppets are so distracting.

I've just watched all your 101's and would like to thank you for the "crash-course" in studio lightning.
I've bought my own studio flash set just a few weeks ago, and you have been a great source of informantion. Thanks.

Having the softbox up high above the camera len's axis IS "butterfly lighting" from what I have been taught. Or do you call the backlights "butterfly"? if so, what's a better term to not confuse the 2?

You are correct. You can use a softbox or a beauty dish to get "real" butterfly lighting. The only reason I called it butterfly lighting is because the two lights in the back remind me of wings. Maybe it should be called wing lighting? Call it whatever works for you. :)
