@ZDT0 Its not " And the moon was close to me" its "And then your mouth was close to me"
-
@benngarcia its not actually a german word. i think in this context its supposed to be the name of a woman since hes talking directly to her "it started for US both,..)

Is this a german word? because in spanish it means the same thing and is pronounced the same way. Maybe its a german song about the spanish word? or am I wrong?

Brilliant, I didn't know Marvin had a german recording, like also The Beatles or Georgie Fame.

Sympatica, now the love is here for us
You are so wonderful, like no other
When I saw you back then, an the blue ocean
That's where the story began, for us both
Sympatica, there was beautiful music there
And the moon was close to me, like a fire
That I could never put out, that could burn me
Oh, it began so wonderfully

It´s "Sympathika" and is the female synonym for a charismatic person. Great song! Never heard it before...

I'm pretty sure it's "sympotheke". Great song by the way.
Sympatica, für uns ist nun die Liebe da
Ich finde dich so wunderbar, wie keine andere
Als ich dich damals sah, am blauen Ozean
Da fing die Story an, für uns beide
Sympatica, da war schöne Musik da
Und dann war dein Mund mir nah, so wie ein Feuer
das nie ich löschen kann, dass mich verbrennen kann
Oh ja, so wunderbar fing es an

Marvin Gaye was rare IMHO. A multi-talent. Like it's been said, he could sing the phone book and make it beautiful.
