  • Can he get a hip replacement??

  • He is certainly not old enough for the hip-replacement option at this point.

A local vet feels he could have neurological damage as well, but only a specialist would be able to determine viable options for Kermit.

Unfortunately, funding is currently an issue for any high-end procedures.

  • We have an email into NC State to see what it would take for them to take a look at him. To see if they would give us any break. We have LOTS of animals and do not have a lot of money and we are a 501c3 charity. Depending on what they say, we could make a plea to the public for funds. For even a specialist to look at him the cost may be close to a couple grand---just for an estimate to do all the tests and we still be no farther ahead. Lots of dogs do well in a cart, on the other hand.

  • Kermit is not incontinent. He is able to use the bathroom while he is in the cart. He sometimes has accidents while he is in his crate like any other puppy. He just is not housebroken yet. He needs to develop a good routine like any other puppy would. Until then, he may have an accident and due to his clumsiness get his mess on himself and need your help getting himself immediately cleaned up. That's why a home where someone is home alot would be beneficial.

  • Kermit is still a puppy so he is still not housebroken and we have not figured out the best routine yet. Diapers are not good though-we tried. He is making some very limited progress walking out of his cart, but is very wobbly which is why he has some sores. He will be better once he becomes a little older and a more mature, quieter dog that doesn't want to play! He is crated and gets out in the cart at different points in the day. We are still figuring him out---never done this before.

  • Homeless Dog in Wheelchair----Kermit is the sweetest dog you will ever meet! He licks your face as you lift him into his cart. He knows you are helping him and he is so grateful for your help and your time. He loves kids as you can see. His spirit is an inspiration to us all. He doesn't know he was born with a disability and enjoys every minute of his life even though it's not a perfect one. He could be a great family pet or be a therapy dog for kids with physical disabilities.GO KERMIT!

  • Kermit is wonderful....I am sure he will find a great forever home.
