Google I/O 2010 - Batch data processing with App Engine

App Engine 201

Mike Aizatsky

In this session, attendees will learn how to write map() functions, how to do simple reduce() operations, how to run these over large datasets, and how App Engine is used to accomplish such parallelism.

  • :) It would be better if converted right.

  • Rrrr, this video is still not converted to html5.

  • I love this api! My demo demofileuploadgae.appspot.com using it.

  • Boys, please sort out the volume levels already! This goes for all Google I/O videos. If we can't hear you, your effort becomes useless :(

Other than that, great work. Please got reduce done ASAP. I wanted to implement something similar, tailored for my particular processing (gelolocated data) but I'll wait for the generic map-reduce.

  • MapReduce is fun, but this presentation is dull.
