  • I have a 330xd and it started without a problem at -26 Celsius which equals -13 F

    remember to really press hard on the brake pedal because in case of cold the sensor will not "see" tat you are pressing the brake pedal is you press it lightly and you will only be switching the ignition on and off. if you leave it a bit the glow plugs will work their magic and also if you put good diesel you shouldn't have problems. I don't know about the rough idle I'm afraid. did you see a service for that?

  • @danny1ro Yea, the first time I had my foot on the brake and it still didn't start. When it did start, I didn't even push the start button; I just had my foot on the brake. The car was not serviced for the idle; it normally does not get that cold where I live.

  • Weird - my Volvo V50 2.0 diesel started better in -9.4F

  • @myee03 I dunno; It had no engine block heater so I wonder if that had something to do with it.

  • you may want to use an additive to keep the fuel from gelling.
