Charles River Kayak Commute

Commuting from home (West Roxbury) to work (Downtown Boston) via kayak (Necky Manitou 13) Map of the trip is here:

how far can you carry your kayak? I plan to carry mine a bit, but I dont know how far Ill be able to go yet.

What a great idea! What kind of kayake would you recommend? I live in Dedham and would like to kayake down the Charles, out into Boston Harbor and camp on one of the many islands with my dog. I am amazed that more people don't take advantage of the beautiful outdoors right in our own back yard.

what a great idea! Good for you. The last couple of years I have often bicycled back and forth from Boston to beyond Westwood, on the VFW and 109. I always wish I could canoe it all the way on the Charles. So beautiful. Way to go!
