what happens when you don't put chains on and the snow is sticky - 1708

An afternoon spent in the woods with the Unimog 406, I should have put the damn chains on but.... Relying on the winch was not much fun as it can be very slow. The track we were on is rougher than it seems, the snow was covering the smooth and rounded boulders along the way. The track was also fairly narrow along with lots of small trees growing in the middle.

I have found for best fit,deflating tires and attaching chains as tight as possible and re inflating tires to 3 to 4 lbs...And you will not throw a chains at higher speeds.....

Just lower the tire pressure to 10 psi and you wan't believe the difference. Been there, done that. Unimog 404S and Unimog 406.
