Traveling On The Amtrak Adirondack

Come along with Green Rail Productions as we take a trip on Amtrak train # 69 The Adirondack.
We will be taking the train from Schenectady to Saratoga Springs, NY.

I arrived at the Schenectady train station early enough to see the Amtrak Maple Leaf departing the station. I did not get a chance to see what number was on the P42DC.

Shortly after the Maple Leaf I happened to catch Norfolk Southern Industrial train 23K which was coming off of the Delaware & Hudson Line (D&H) which is owned by Canadian Pacific Railway.

Finally the Amtrak Adirondack arrives. Running 45 minutes late. The reason for the delay is becuase of problen with one of the Amfleet Coaches in New York Penn Station.

When the passengers are getting on we can hear the conductor say "You got to go folks, we have to make up time."

I rode in Amfleet I Coach # 82663.

It did not work out as well as I would have liked because I did not get a seat next to a window. I had to sit in a seat on the outside. One thing I noticed is that a lot of the Amfleet Is and Amfleet II Coaches are getting.electronic LED signs which keep riders advised of up coming stops. .

I believe that P42DC has a great sounding horn. We can hear the horn as the train is crossing Maxon Street. You can hear me say: "Just went arcoss Maxon Road." After we go across the Mohawk River we head onto the D&H.

@EVILFURRYBUNNY That's good. If I use my new laptop for most of the travel while on the train, it can only last four hours without charging. These outlets, do they have three holes for each plug or they only have two?
