@KnightlySirJames1 yes sir, kali is just another name for a type of martial arts that we call silat in indonesia. the famous word: `Gunting` which is mean scissor in english is malayan word and sulu sultanate of philipines is actually sumatranesse vassal that established the kingdom and brought the martial art to the philipine isles. the FMA is rooted in the SEAMA (south east asia martial arts) of sumatranesse influence, while as a whole there 2 influnces in SEAMA: Siamesse and sumatranesse

Too much art, not enough combat. It looks like a TKD / forms competitor imitating (poorly) pekiti tirsia. You need to start hitting tires and sparring. You twirl for no reason, not leading into a strike, just because it looks cool. You open your hand when you're twirling, which mean that ANY impact would cause you to disarm yourself. Hitting tires will cure you of this habit. At times you're striking and not even looking in the same direction. This is just dancing. Make it real.

Linguistics in the PI has scattered into 95=175 different languages...over time...
and while all of them may have come from there a long while back more recent migrations have occured...check the
tude...because this is demonstratable, and a little obvious.

I should introduce you to my wife...even her own people have trouble telling where she came from.
i beleive this is an escrima art, hence the stick called an escrima. kali is a blade art while escrima is a stick art.

You make a true comment. The SinaTirsiaWali video that this footage is on shows many drills that apply to stick, blade, knife, etc. Though this simple free-form may look like escrima, I am a student under Master J. Heriford who is a true master in the art called Kali.
