i agree with you that they need more space and grows pretty big for barbs and are fast swimmers but a 2,000 gallon is just not really needed...for all of those barbs they can simply live in a 300 gallon if not bigger but they do love the open swimming space if given! =]

Full grown scats need saltwater to thrive. But I salute you for truly taking into consideration the needs of fish like these. Active, large, and with hearty, appetites, they also need lotsa oxygen. Hats off to a job well done

Are you out of your mind? Who would use up a tank like that on only a school of fish?

wow this tank is beautiful. I just recently got some tinfoil barbs and they're my favorite fish. When its feeding time, they seriously look like little fricken pirahnas haha. I know you said the tank was 567 litres, but how many gallons is that?
Great looking tank and fish!!!!! Wow!! If I may ask, what size if your tank?

The complete background was built out of styrofoam and poly urethane foam, cut to form and finished with 3 layers of epoxy resin mixed with pigments. Each layer of epoxy is also covered in sand to create the natural appearance. The complete process took me 15 months.
The tank is a 160 x 60 x 60 cm, 576 liter tank.

what kind of fish is the little skinny one nipping barbs?
SCATS

the "little skinny one" is an 8", 11 year old flying fox (epalzeorhynchus kallopterus).
It has been in the tank from the beginning and keeps the school of tinfoils together.
It looks agressive, but that's just show ...
