whatever his political views, anyone can appreciate him as a good actor. Plus as the hottest guy in movies EVER. I can't think of an actor today that has his looks or very special aura. Bob just had something about him. He really was beautiful.

This man was truly debonair and sophisticated at the highest degree! How many actors can you say something like that in these days?

@StaunchComic do u remember what book it was? It kind of sounds like bs because there were many many more beautiful actors, in the sense that they were pretty but not as masculine

@Politeama I am with you-I myself have had difficulty choosing either Viv Leigh or Hedy with him. Personally, I might choose Viv but I still give you props for the comment

He's probably looking down at us from up there and smiling =`) ♥

@StaunchComic I think it was the cigarettes that deepened his voice.

I recently read a book where it claimed Robert was forced by MGM to take male harmone shots because they considered him to beautiful. It made his voice deeper and he grew chest hair. Then Mayer made him grow that mustache. I wonder if there's any truth to that?

Robert Taylor, the most beautiful man to ever grace the screen. And yes (in agreement with the preceding comment), Hedy Lamarr was the most exquisite woman in all the world. Flawless to behold, both of them. Thank you for this lovely tribute and the tasteful music as well. Bravo!
I have always thought that if we are going to choose good looks, Mr. Robert Taylor and Miss Hedy Lamarr have been the most beautiful couple ever in films. It is not easy to say this since we have had beauties like Ava Gardner, Vivien Leigh, Audrey Hepburn, etc., and Alain Delon, Rock Hudson, etc., as a young man I have always considered Taylor-Lamarr the top in looks. They were not married but they had a movie together "Lady of the Tropics" (I think). Thank you for your tribute to Mr. Taylor.

You are right about the looks. Always thought so myself. So glad you liked it.

Although I don't believe Mr. Taylor and myself would have seen eye-to-eye politically, who cares? He was a whole heck of alot better than credited for in his day, and his films still stand up! I remember my mother telling me about meeting him at a party at a producer named Arnold Laven's house, many years ago. "What was he like?", I asked. "Shorter than I imagined", Mom replied , "But what a beautiful man!"

I'm not gay so I can only see Robert Taylor through the eyes of a straight man. I always thought the man had a certain dignity and decency about him in all the roles he played. Even when his career was winding down and his films became less he still added something special to what were often B movies. I'm thinking especially of an early T.V. movie called "Return of the Gunfighter" Taylors presence made this film into far more than it should have been and it is still very watchable today.
