in this case i used Photoshop and cinema 4d..

I also use after effects, corel painter 11 and Vue 8 xstream

@dreamerboy1231 almost like this...but then you have to creat 3d geometry in a 3d aplictiona like cinema 4D or maya..anda camera project the parts of the matte painting on to every geometric object..... so you can pan around with a 3d camera

Just a fast tutorial 4 the people who don't know how matte paintings works

just use adope after effects or photo shop and paint out the diffrent masks, from diffrent pictures, and fit them together just like a jigsaw puzzle after that you fix it with a little color correction and there u have u'r matte painting ;)..

im doing animation on my own but now im forced to switch from 3ds max to another app(maya,blender or cinema4d) testing rigth now.

so your experience fit pretty well with my project
