Mom Meets My Boyfriend!

My mom finally met Pier for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was scared at first, but my mom loved him (and his pizza). It was amazing to finally bring these two aspects of my life together.

I have a question. If you were to somehow have a kid/kids. (Adoption or Some other way.) Would you and your mate hope for him/ her to be straight?

That's so sweet, Sam. I'm glad the meeting went well. My mom couldn't even look at my now husband in the face when they first met years ago - she's very religious, and had a really hard time dealing with it, unlike my dad (also religious), who accepted me right away. Now my mom and hubby are two peas in a pod, and are best friends. She recently spoke in a forum at her church, publically, in support of gay acceptance in their church. It does take time.

@ImTheSecretSquare To say and there is many if you dont push your personal life on others your living a "lie" is just not ture. Some live by good exmple others feel need to be advertising it. If u did it all on your very own thats one thing ,but I have seen Adult Gay men telling little boys as young as 10 and 11 year olds online "your gay" "be who you are" "come out" in message boards/blogs and truth is that is sexualizing a child.

@timm9 wtf, "should not even be having sex let alone coming out"? Like, what? Coming out isn't even in the same ballpark as sex. I came out when I was 13 and I was WAY out of college when I had sex for my first time. I agree that 11 year old kids don't know what they're talking about, but the idea that we're "selfish" in coming out is ridiculous. It's selfish to tell gay people that they have to lie and hide away who they are just so you don't have to be momentarily discomfited.

Thats Right. Most gays are selfish in coming out and dont see how that kills many dreams of their family. Really I dont think coming out will be needed in time. Its like coming out u got blue eyes. To me coming out kinda forces gay thing down others. I say Just be who u are and let things fall where they may. This is inpart we have bullying problem wit got gays telling 11yo to come out hell a child should not even be having sex let alone coming out. its just kinda unneeded to me.

This is a beautiful video. I cannot relate to 'coming out', but I have had many losses in life, as well as bumps in the road with my parents. Watching your video brought tears to my eyes. I am happy to see that your mother accepts you and glad you feel comfortable with who you are. You seem well adjusted. Thank you for sharing your healing process with youtube.
