  • This videos BRILLIANT! I was a listener to 242 from start to finish.Amongst the DJS I recall are Ben Healy, Mel Howard, Tony Allan and Jack McLaughlin whom I met several times in later years when attending the "Thingummyjig" ceilidh shows on STV. I rememer the last programme very well and I still have a reel tape of the owner Tommy Sheilds. Unfortunately I have no way of transferring it to CD at the moment but am continually looking for a method of doing so as Ive other material as well

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. I also listened to Radio Scotland back in the day, god it seems like yesterday, it was pretty hammy to be honest but it was well loved then as was something fresh.
