This is my build Page 13 of the Align T-Rex 500 ESP KX017008 Combo Version EP RC Helicopter.

In this video I show how I put together the items shown on page 13 of the manual.

  • Hi Elias,

I have this Align 500 kit now and not sure should I strip down the tail assembly. As I went to remove the blade grips I could feel the bolts have been loctite (like on your video). Which makes me think the thrust bearings are already greased up and I need not to do anything with this tail assembly. So would this be right to install as is?

  • @Leeroy2782 I would say leave it, I have in the past and flown without issues, however I have taken apart one once and it didnt seem to have any lube after around 10 flights. However Align are quite good with reputation in quality it doesnt mean that every time they do it right.

  • Nice videos!

Kind of odd that it doesnt have the weight mod on the tail blade grips like the 450 pro has :(

  • @Booonzie yeah I often think about why they didnt do it

  • Nice to see someone else doing a built video on the 500 esp keep up the great work ,

  • So True, we need more people doing build videos to help those who dont exactly know all the areas of the build.

  • Yet another outstanding vid thanks Elias.

@Leeroy2782 - I was in the same predicament upon finishing my 500ESP build this week. On good advice I broke the Align loctite seal on the tail grips, and sure enough - NOT A TRACE OF GREASE to be found anywhere in the thrust bearings.

I hit it with a decent amount of tri-flow and locked her back in place.

1 week to go and my ESP will be in the air!

Full kudos to Elias for the great ESP build series once more.
