@moekanz its post and beam construction with purling going horizontally over the roof trusses. The only way to insulate is from the outside under the roofing materials like iso foam. If you wanted to enclose the interior so you dont see the beams then you could do interior insulation.

I`m about to build a 8 X 5 Metre Garage in my garden but it`ll be 4" X 2" studded frame work and white wood cladded. I can`t imagine the cost of that in Oak. Fine building though & was good to watch. Apart from the text over the action bit. Thanks!

I wish the text hadn't been placed right over the action at the middle of the video. It also might have been nice to see the final result at the end instead of just text.

That was great, apart from the concrete floor.. I'd love one of these

Great soundtrack! Scott Joplin if anyone cares.

what about insulation??

@moekanz Fittted Triso super 10 quilt/foil type insulation over ply sheeted rafters, counterbattens etc. Combined with high density rigid insulation between open ground floor joists will effectively wrap roof space for normal use. If open ground floor is enclosed insulation between studs and suitable lining would be necessary.

Costs may differ where you are. 100% European oak, including cladding was about 50% more but the building will last indefintely with very little maintenance. The person who made the frame, also the sole contractor now lives on the west coast of Canada.
