they were..are...great...amazing what they recorded in 2 years....
i think the best drum track on a pop single up to 1966....the best was summer in the city...there are two drums on that recording and it still sounds great....
john wrote great songs....
i wonder if they used session players for the "drums and bass" on "do you believe in magic"? anybody know...?

I have been a Spoonful fan since the 60s and went to college in Wilmington, NC. It blows my mind that Steve is living near there now.
