Hear feedback from the choreographer, Alexei Ratmansky, as he leads the rehearsal for the dream sequence of Don Quixote.

This scene happens in the middle of the ballet, when Don Quixote has a heavenly vision of Dulcinea, accompanied by her wood nymphs and cherubs.

  • This is wonderful! Does anyone know the name of the girl in the green leotard on the right at about 1:10 - I think she's absolutely brilliant!! :)

  • @laurajl92 That is soloist, Laura Gilbreath. Isn't she great?

  • I absolutely love seeing real rehearsals. As a dancer I find it comforting to know how other studios and companies run their rehearsals. Plus PNB dancers are GORGEOUS!

  • Wow... Those girls have alot of body and they move it around like nothing. Being a tall dancer myself, I usually find fast things impossible ha! Props to them! So beautiful!

  • Wonderful! Makes my day when PNB posts videos! Especially rehearsal videos. One day I'll make it up their for a live performance!

  • @pacificnwballet Thanks for replying :)

  • fav part was when he slowed the piano tempo but laughed that while it was too fast the dancers still made it happen... yup, fantastic Balanchine style training at work, folks :-)

  • More videos like this please!

  • AMAZING !!!

  • PNB is a company founded on Balanchine dancers. and nothing is ever too fast for a Balanchine dancer. in his technique you're always asked to dance bigger faster and more precise and daring every second. so y not keep that tempo lol
