I don't know why they put this in Civilization 4. It's such a beautiful piece of music it's hard to concentrate on the game.

@bicsmokescrack That's probably the point. Makes it so that you mess up somewhere and the computer can take advantage of every turn you don't think about. =p

It's strange: I can actually listen to the entire piece, even though it's the same sections repeated. There's something about the way the enunciation of the words interacts with the pitches that makes it chilling. Those basses are just so powerful. I love it!

I like to lisen civ music while driving, it keeps padestrians safe :D

I only do that if I get a leader that doesn't start as 'spiritual'. The money you can get from founding a religion is just too much of an advantage to pass up in my eyes.

@Grahckheuhl I actually tend to go without religions in single-player games... Keeps dem' religious folks off me back for quite a while. :P

when this song comes out right after a heavy war with your neighbor you feel the king of the world but also a small weak man looking at all the unexplored land on the map and fearing powerful nations at the other side of the ocean :S
Did you know that this was one of Mozart's favourite pieces. As a child, he heard it a concert and wanted the sheet music, but the officials denied it. So he ran home and wrote the whole piece from memory, note perfect. :)

@Eamesam
Mozart was, indeed, a musical genius.
