For UK users:
Look for a place that is a wholesale seller of spray-shop supplies.
Ask them for 'Panel Wipe #3'. This is pure petroleum spirit with nothing else in & won't clog your lantern or poison you with fumes. The Americans call it White Gas. It is what the Coleman gasoline lantern has always used.
It is also the stuff to use in any camp stove meant for petrol, because it is pure.
It is a bit pricey though, but at least it doesn't stink.

You need to burn the mantle before first use
and you need to read the operator manual if you never used a "liquid fuel" operated lantern.
This video doesn't accomplish anything, just a wast of bandwidth.

@ simplyhike the Coleman has given you false information. the heat shield the globe sits on is the protect the valve assemble from the intense heat of the mantle not to protect the globe. All lanterns that do not have Graphite valve packing use it. The heat shield was introduced on the 321A. Rubber O rings in the valve failed causing firesl. 321b through C added extra O rings for more safety. All modern lanterns use the 321 fuel system and shouldn't be opperated without the heat shieled

At 1:13 you can see the particularly poor fit and finnish on these modern Amerian made stoves.
Coleman UK assembled kit form lanterns. The Made in UK 242B was ( Canadian factory parts ) all brass and nickel plated construction. Find one of those vinatge units and you will have a much better lantern that is still dual fuel.
With the addition of the 201 gas generator and sprit cup the 242B will burn parrafin, petrol or campning fuel.
better choices: Coleman 335, Tillies, Petromax....

All your videos need a boost in the volume level. perhaps it is due to conversion?

Yes. It will foul the gen faster, but the fuel savings may offset that. Some say that running camp fuel through it every few tanks will help extend gen life. I have no scientific evidence either way.
Note that unleaded will also smell more during lighting/extinguishing, so be ready for that.

When you say unleaded fuel, do you mean like unleaded gasoline?

Now, when you use this coleman type fuel exchange manifold, you port the tube that went to the mantel, in to a valve less pulse jet housing. and get a highly ephishant form of fuel supply for the boiler.
@kieranmullen2 - thank you, we're working on it
