1981 was a very fecund year in the Nigerian pop scene: Christy Essien-Igbokwe ; Onyeka Onwenu, Jide Obi; Kris Okotie; Tony Okoroji; Dora Ifudu, etc. But it was Oby Onyioha's album, released in December of the year, that had an international feel to it. Just imagine what Nigeria must have been like then, listening to such fare alongside Lakeside, Kool & the Gang, Billie Ocean, Ray Parker Jnr., Barry White, Odyssey, Bunny Mack, Wally Badarou, Raphael Cameron, Eddy Grant, Grace Jones and many more!
