This piece was second prize winner in the Pike's Peak Young Composers Competition (PPYC). She performed it in the winner's concert in Colorado Springs. The organizers did an excellent job, the venue was great, and the audience was extremely warm. The judges provided thorough and highly constructive feedback, the likes of which we haven't seen in any other competition. This is the ideal place to debut a new work. Before the concert, we took a drive up to Pike's Peak, which was Anna's first time in the Rockies and the first time at such high elevation. We also went to Garden of the Gods, and Wind Cave. Anna played two other pieces in this concert, so please stay posted!

  • I liked this one the best. Sounds like music from the early romantic period-- a nice mix of classical and romantic. Congratulations again!

  • Thank Abhik! Great to see you too at the AADGT recital. I wish we had a chance to chat!

  • The whole work is very good. My favourite part is the "second echoe"......it seemed that Schumann was dreaming of Scarlatti. Very strange and beautiful inspiration which sounds like a double homage to two great composers of the past......

  • I agree, the second one is the nicest. I hope you got a chance to hear her cello piece. I forgot to turn on the camera for the first bar, so the first measure or two or missing, unfortunately!

  • In momments sounds like Piazolla! :O

  • She's adorable and admirable!

  • Thanks for the lovely poem, it is very good. Don't worry about some spelling errors. I don't think anyone would judge a non-native speaker on a few misspelled words, this is nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes.

  • She doesn't know. The melodic idea comes to her and she writes it exactly as she hears it in her head without any other consious thought.

  • When I listen to Annas compositions, I remember Beethoven who once sayed, that he hated preferring one of his compositions to another. By the way, It cost me some weeks of thinking with a burning wish, to solve this riddle. But believe me, if you do, these compositions sound different.

  • you are an excelent composer Anna !

  • You're both a talented composer and performer and congratulations on your awards!
