This video features the sE1000a, sE Electronics' entry level condenser. Don't let that bit of info fool you -- the diaphragm and electronics are still hand-built on these bad boys. Owen O'Malley honors local Chicago heroes Styx (they'll always be The Tradewinds to me) with his rendition of "Come Sail Away" to see if the sE1000a can withstand nearly unimaginable levels of musical genius. Anyone thinking of buying this mic, I just completely do not accept this crap as a microphone, I bought the same model a year ago and recorded my vocals on the second album I had been working on. However, one one of my logic projects, there are nearly 60 vocal takes I dumped because the microphone crackles too much, it literally sounds like someone put explosive poppers in my headphones when I go to record a demo mix. All wires are connected fully and everything is clean, alas, nowhere further.
