Here's a thought about the poker game: Geordi can see through the cards, Deanna can sense things like confidence and honesty, and Data can both count cards and fix the deck. Yet plain old Riker always wins. The only person who beat him was a visiting officer. From this I've concluded that the crew lets him win so he won't mope around all day and become impossible to work with.

Data even forgave Maddox...we saw in "Data's Day" that he still corresponds with him. I'd like to think that Maddox eventually came around and became a supporter of AI/android rights.

@sfdebris Have you tried a service like tinyurl?

@clearspira If the visor were creating its own X-rays, sure. But it isn't. Merely being able to see X-rays doesn't hurt anyone.
And, yes, infrared would make more sense. The darker parts of the cards would retain heat a little more. But it wouldn't be something you could tell without specifically watching for it, so I trust Geordi when he says he doesn't do that.

@clearspira I don't remember the episode but Geordi told Worf that he can indeed see through cards. It doesn't involve X-rays but infrared light. And Geordi also said, Don't worry, I never use it to my advantage.

@Herbarius Not to my knowledge. He didn't in this review, he didn't in BoBW, he didn't in Descent and he didn't in All Good Things. I believe those are the only poker episodes he's reviewed.

@aperson22222 I love this theory but it has one fundamental flaw: we've never been shown that the Visor has X-ray capabilities. It has infra-red, ultra-violet, telescopic and technobabble. In fact it would kind of make real world sense: X-ray is potentially very harmful, if he started examining playing cards he could feasibly injure his crew mates.

Is the theme sample in this teaser from First Contact?

@TheKlink OMG this is ridiculous! His videos CLEARLY without question fall under fair use!

One of my favorite episodes about one of my favorite shows.

@TheStrayCross If you want a workaround, you can display the subscription videos with descriptions so you can just copy and paste the URLs instead.

Cos he's on 2 of his 3 strikes because CBS have complained about his start trek vids, just like the BBC complained about his RedDwarf vids. He made a vid about it actually watch?v=Hg8KOFVLMAo
Is there anyway to make the blip URLs shorter? It's easier to simply click the link when it pops up in the subscription box instead of going to the video to click the link there

@TheStrayCross I'm afraid they changed their linking format so it's now like this. Unless there's a way to post code in the trailer's description box, I don't think there's anything I can do. Sorry.
