This clip puts three previous clips together. It starts with the cheesy Richard Strauss presentation of the lift itself. It's goofy, but if you're a car guy you still might just tear up a little when the music hits its crescendo and the lift is almost all the way up. Then there's a slide show which shows the steps involved in installing the lift (I did it myself). Finally, I used my still camera to snap pictures of the lift going up and down. Why? I don't know. But the image is clearer than what the video camera catches.

  • awesome!.....hey what brand of lift is that?

  • @zipthebunny Thanks. The lift is made by Vestil Manufacturing in Indiana. It's technically a hydraulic lift table for industrial use -- as a rule it would be too expensive to use as an automotive lift and also less-than-ideal for any car outside of the flat-belly-pan Porsche 911 and original VW Beetle. But I got it second-hand for a good price, and my 911 is the only car I do regular work on.

  • No wife, or kids ehh??

  • @OnlineBackupServices you're right. Unibody cars have specific points from which you have to lift them from. Otherwise you run the risk of twisting the structure of the car. A framed car on the other hand can be lifted from any point along its frame. Google "2 post auto lift". These are the best ones to get. Theyre not in the way of anything. And the lifting arms can be placed wherever needed.

  • @salemcripple isnt it bad for the car to lift it from the center like tjhat? based on my very basic knowledge of cars, i thought that cars had specific spots they were lifted from. such as the jacking points next to the wheel which is where part of the chassis is. It would seem silly to lift a car from the midsection where there is no exposes chassive. Made doubly worse because the prosche is a mid engine car.

  • @creekwv I take it you've never actually worked on a porsche before. You can't get to anything through the rear hatch other than the oil fill, and engine, and trans dipstick (if equipped with automatic. EVERYTHING else is done from underneath. And it's also kinda hard to remove the wheels/springs/what have you while the car is sitting on them isn't it? I know you'll just say "jack it up on the floor". Kinda defeats the purpose of having a lift.

  • @salemcripple Its a Porsche. The engine and transaxle are in the back. The wheels and brakes (-notice the spelling) are on the corners. There is no exhaust under the belly pan. There is no driveshaft under it. There isn't much under it at all. Like the description of the video says, its a flat belly car.

  • pretty cool, but mostly useless in my opinion. You can get to the tires, and breaks, but since that whole section of floor comes up, it covers most of the underbody of the car.

  • ill buy ur porsche 4 5 bucks

  • locks lack a vessels engine room! hehehe nice and clean grtz

  • wait for it...lol

    nicee
