7.62 Surprise - How to record on N-track

I sent an mp3 of a multi track recording to my sister a while ago and she played it to an acquaintance who said that it was 'impossible' for anyone to play more than 1 instrument in a recording. I was branded a liar and my sister was stupid for believeing me! So I made this video to show how easy it is. I use n-track which is one of the cheapest multi track recorders - £30 or US$50 I think. I only did 2 tracks because making the video was a bit tiresome.

Do you use a mixxing board? Do you find it makes a difference in recording quality? I found it got rid of all the background white noise when I did.

@Fathergryndl i do use a board and it does make a difference. I use many different inputs from many amps so the board helps/

erm u think its possible for a 14 year old like me to do this type of stuff? cause im thnkin of gettin some recording gear with xmas money :)

How do you make the sound come out from PC while you're playing?

Thats what happens with n-track.  you have to set your computer up to accept the input sounds and the output sounds. Its not easy but it is possible for everyone.

my n track studio makes a horrible sound buzzy sound!! how I can make mine not be so buzzy!!

@06a09 Of course, the younger the better. I'm 58 and when I started playing we had none of this digital stuff, just 4 track if you were lucky. Now we can get unlimited tracks on a computer based multi-track system amazing!!

The only stuff that was better in those days were the guitars and the valve amps but the recording gear and effects units you can get now are AMAZING.

...I find it made a world of difference. I used to use to feed directly from teh amp into the hardrive but I used to get this annoying white noise. When I broke down and bought the board it totally cleaned it up.

You should have put money on it - I record all the instruments myself using nTrack.

dude, go for it! You can't loose out other then on the software. I have an audio interface midi/drum machine, couple of pre amps and a 300$ micrphone, and i'm 15. All the equipment other then the software will hold it's value, with in 10 Years. But i'd honestly look into buying so recording equipment. You don't need N Track or Cubase, i use mixcraft and it's awesome. anyways i hope you consider to buy a audio interface first if your recording guitar drums or vocals. then move up your equipment.
