He's wearing a lab coat, so he must be right.. oh wait.. boot times? I ONLY BOOT MY LAPTOP ONCE A WEAK, SO FAIL!

All That's not at all to say that SSD's aren't faster. Just that this is a terrible video for reference of that

The second thing is the actual boot time from the time it post to the time windows starts is within a few seconds of each other which leads me to believe the only time difference in the boot is actually windows cache not the hard drive. a laptop with a 5400rpm drive, on win vista or 7, will boot faster the second time you boot it, even faster each time to a point, if you have a turbo memory or a dedicated cache drive installed on the mobo.

Man this video is sooo not anywhere a fair comparison. First off i notice, he keeps his hand on the HDD as he checks temp. For all i know he's getting his fingers temp. on top of that an 8 degree difference could just be the ambient temp difference after the time lapse and is not a "significant" difference as he states.

@football72linemen Well i will stick with my Dual 500GB Segate HD's untill I see an SSD that can match it or beat it in price for the same amount of space, I download music, movies, and games, and also do OS testing, so for my money HD's win.

I think they are if you use a lot of programs. Every program I have instantly starts up as soon as I click on it where as before I had to WAIT on everything. Sometimes I would be waiting a long time. Now its instant! Like turning on a light bulb! Thats worth the price of a new computer to me!
First moment I thought this is the video from the bunker of Dharma Initiative :)
