Surprisingly they sound more sterile to me then the bill lawrence pickups you had in there. They just don't have that strat sweetness to them. They are very clear and defined but my vote is for the bill Lawrence pickups you had.

@bluescrusher Hmm, might be the camera location (or the fact that I'm recording off of a digicam). I definitely find the BGs to be livelier and more soulful, especially in the neck (which I never got to, go figure). I also don't like normal Strat bridge pickups (too thin) so the S90 there is awesome.
But yeah, I'd definitely suggest checking out other demos of these pickups since my recording gear leaves a bit to be desired...

Nice P90 sounds out of the bridge. Very nice Who tone out of it. Since I am big Who fan after much research I am going to get one of these BG S90 for my strat and the Pure90s for my Les Paul. I am sold on these BG pickups.

@rsaathoff I'm sold on them too! In addition to this Strat set, I have a set of their Smoke Stack humbuckers installed on an older PRS CE24. BG is a great product and very reasonably priced. They made a believer out of me!
Good luck with your new pickpus! Please demo the Pure90s if you can, I'd love to check it out!
