Inferior? Trance needs to be reinvented before anyone can claim it to be superior to anything.

Why post '98 trance is the most commercial, immature and technically unchallenged form of electronic dance music on the scene. The dead genre that is "Trance" today (damn thing isn't hypnotic at all... anymore) is just some mainstream glitz drenched with pop influences made accessible to the masses.

The fact is that if you want to find stuff like this that is made today...you shouldn't be looking for trance but for techno. There are many producers today you might enjoy like Vince Watson, The Third Man, Ian O'Donovan, Darko Esser, Kirk DeGiorgio, etc...
