Latham and Ferris vs Gilbert and Tony Charles from Memphis, June 7, 1979.

Historic match as Eddie Gilbert makes his television debut under the name Tommy Gilbert, Jr.

Larry Latham went on to greater fame as Moondog Spot. Wayne Ferris is - of course - the future Honky Tonk Man. Tommy Gilbert Sr. makes the save.

  • so thats where ax and smash got there finishing move it almost broke eddys head off, shake rattle and roll brothers

  • Tommy Sr looked like Burt Reynolds lol

  • Great clip! A lot of stars in there. Nice early studio clip from the Channel 5 era.

  • Tony Charles was one of my favorite wrestlers as a kid. His matches with Bill Dundee were awesome technical matches that were way ahead of their time. The Blonde Bommers (Lathum & Ferris) were a really good team - wish they could have lasted longer.

  • Honky Tonk Man was awesome. Future HOF'er???

  • OMFG Tommy Gilbert Jr??? No wonder he turned into Hotstuff. Blackjack Mulligan Jr LOL. Wow, Ferris became greatest IC champion ever, and Latham aka Moondog Spot. Awsome match
