Peggy Lipton was the epitome of the cool, 60s hippie chick -- both on and off camera from what I've read. Saw her recently on TV and she still looks remarkably good.

I call this period in TV the "Last Gasp of White America", including Adam-12, Dragnet, Ironsides to name a few. Most of the storylines showed establishment white males "saving" the hippies and the black man from their drug induced revolts and tragic misadventures. This as real life played it out the opposite, with the drug culture becoming the mainstream and white fading to black.
