HRC & Utah Leaders Deliver 150K Petitions to Mormon Church

After 150,000 of you wrote to the Mormon church telling them to correct a recent statement that LGBT people are "impure and unnatural," HRC President Joe Solmonese joined Utah leaders in delivering those petitions to church leaders.

@domipurcell I was simply making a correction and suggesting them to research more about the church so they could become a more informed individual. I don't consider myself to be someone who "causes the hate" if anything, I do my best to "love thy neighbor as thyself." People are free to stand up against any cause, establishment, religion, government, ect but when the protest or disagreement is fueled by wrong or inaccurate facts/information... how can the individual or group be justified.

The problem is not in being Gay. It is doing what God as not given and going out of those bounds that will hurt us eventually. Telling the truth is not bullying. Fire, recessions, wars, plagues hurt a lot more when they come because of wickedness.

I would that all men have a deep and abiding "brotherly love" in their hearts. To not hurt others because of their differences. There is no wickedness in Love only in the things we do when we go out of bounds set by GOD in name of that love.

@pilottim79 And as for your "zero facts" statement, I know several who were thrown out of their homes once the parents found out they were gay. Are you denying this happens, that gay kids have been left homeless, that there have been young mormons who have committed suicide because of the intollerant preachings from your chuch? Do you want me to list names? I've heard your "Elders" and been hurt by their ill informed words. Church should lift the spirit, not beat it down.

People with agendas like your own don't bother to look at facts and science, they instead choose ignorance as their guide. As for a "Gay Agenda" it is very shocking and to someone ignorant it may even be un-American. Gays want equal rights, thats the big agenda. The very principal our great country was founded on, All men are created equal.
