This segment is taken from The Way of the Master TV show, Episode: Vienna

"Has Christianity caused more wars than anything else in history?"
Some skeptics say Christianity has caused more wars than anything else in history.  They paint a picture of Christians as the most murderous group of people, and somehow, this objection is supposed to discredit the claims of Christ and debunk the Bible in one single jab.

Now, I agree man has used "religion" for political gain.  But then again, sinful man has used everything under the sun for political gain. Just because a politician or a military leader uses the name of God to further his agenda, that does not mean God approves.
In John 16, Jesus tells us that there will be some who will murder in the name of God.  He says, "the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God."   John 16 goes on to say, " they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me."

These are not true Christians.  The bible explains that hypocrites and deceivers will always be in and around the Christian church until God punishes them on the Day of Judgment. Jesus told His followers to love their enemies. So, if a man puts a knife into someone's back in the name of Christianity, something obviously isn't right.  Let's not forget the Bible tells us all murderers, including those who've had murderous thoughts in their heart will not make it to heaven. Following the teachings of the Bible will not lead you to start a war.

In fact, it's the Bible that teaches us to be at peace with all men.

They may not be true christians but some do truly believe that what they are doing is right based on their religions. Peope (most people) have a deep seeded moral fiber. That is what keeps them well behaved, not some words in a book. I never read the bible until about three years ago. Yet I knew for twenty three years what was good and bad. These morals will be intilled in us regardless of religion.

And the word of God (the true Bible) will never be destroyed, but Satan will do everything in is power to try. That is why there are so many false "bibles" being used today; and that is why, so many so-called Christians out there are not true believers and in their unbelief and lack of relationship with the LORD, they throw other off away from the truth.

I only know that I used to despise Christianity and not want anything to do with it because I thought that Roman Catholicism was Christianity. After learning that it is NOT and that the Roman religion is actually responsible for many many Christian martyrs, Today, I understand how people would shy away from Christianity because they confuse modern new age occult groups (like Joel Osteen etc.) which claim to be Christian for the real teaching of Jesus.

I firmly believe that if you personally want nothing to do with religion then religion will have nothing to do with you. It's easy to avoid

Once Atheism is as powerful and widespread as Christianity or Islam then I daresay a killing or two might take place against those who do believe and refuse to stop. I don't deny that there has been unecessary deaths but also don't believe that religion is 100% the reason behind this. More a cover used by the guilty in an attempt to disguise their motive.

there will always be war no matter what reason. Almost all religions have been used to justify violence. But reasons for war is not limited to religion. So I hate it when people blame religions. It's people that make themeselves evil, not the religion

Quote: Mark Spence, Some skeptics say Christianity has caused more wars than anything else in history. They paint a picture of Christians as the most murderous group of people, and somehow, this objection is supposed to discredit the claims of Christ and debunk the Bible in one single jab. End quote. Though people who criticize Christianity are going to bring up the violence. It’s not like there saying Christianity is violent therefore everything in the bible must be a lie.

Well Mark Spence, in this video. He said that the Christians who make the rest of you look bad are false Christians who believe they are following Christianity quite competently. He also said people use Christianity as a tool to get there way. So would you prefer it if I was to instead say why is it so easy to pervert the word of god?

I'm sorry have you ever read the Bible to find these things out for yourself, and studied the old testament? Many people haven't. As for the crusades, the Christians didn't want to do anything, but those Muslims (the religion of "peace") killed 50% of Christians that went east after the great schism. Forcing Christians to convert to Islam or die...and it's still happening. And no mere mortal has destroyed the word of God...who lied to you? People have tried and failed.
