This is my favorite part of the piece! :D

A very nice performance. We did the work when I was a music ed major at Tenn. Tech University with antiphonal brass and the pipe organ replacing the woodwind chorale right before the finale. It's a guaranteed tear jerker if pulled off correctly. I'm doing the Curnow arrangement with a community band I conduct. I also direct a brass band and some of my players are coming in to double the band parts in the hall for the finale. I hope it's memorable and touches the spirit of at least one person

AMAZING! Just, when in doubt, add baritone.Otherwise, you did great.

Absolutely great performance....I always get misty when I hear this piece played well. Outstanding conducting...didn't let this last section get too slow. Beautiful, rich balance with plenty of tuba (can't have too much tuba!).

Thanks!
This was a part of a larger performance that included narration of the story 'A Christmas Bell for Anya.' In the original performance of this done by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, there was a 400-piece choir singing this last section. Lacking those numbers at Illinois Wesleyan, my friend Charlie and I arranged an organ part for this finale. We basically put the tuba part in the organ foot pedals. The sounds really helped shape the brass section.
