Picopict is one of the best games currently on the DSiWare (so you can only play it on the DSi).
I wanted to have the top screen being shown without reducing the size of the gameplay screen. And I really like this setup a lot that my Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks videos should have this kind of setup. Also my watermark isn't covering over the gameplay screen.

I might produce some Time Attack videos on this game but in 2 Categories,
A) No Pause spamming
B) With Pause spamming (it makes some of the harder ones so much easier and doesn't add up to the In-game Time).

  • Nice gameplay. You do pretty well for the first stage (so damn hard to achieve 100 000 points on that stage, actually!

You tried the Remix Stages yet? I recommend you try the first one. It'll make you a pro! But watch out for Remix Stages 13-15...so damn fast. (In North America, I've heard that it is named Dark Stages and for Japan Ura (meaning dark?) Stages.)

  • I've cleared all of the Remix stages and I've bought every single track in the game. Normal Stage 15 is the best stage to get loads of coins.

  • To me, I think that Remix Stage 1 is where I loot all my coins.

It's because I specialise in speedruns of stages, which usually coincides with a high score (as I frequently try for the highest possible combo, which a lot of later stages provide). The reason I haven't completed the game quickly is because I want to master it to the point of not even paying attention to that POW button. Yeah, I'm aiming for all stages with a star. Also, I don't pause spam, but I pause a bit if interrupted.

  • Yeah, pause spamming makes the game too easy. Hence if I did do a Time attack I would do it in 2 catagories.

The only problem for Highscore attacks is that it's possible to 'stall' forever by clearing blocks that are no longer required to fill up the sprite. You can remove the required blocks by using the POW block and you can get a coin for clearing each MegaPico.block.

Can't wait for Mario vs DK: Minis March Again to come out tomorrow.

  • wierd... the standard american black dsi's version of this game is called PiCTOBiTS.

  • All American DSi systems will call this PiCTOBiTs., I do know this ever since I own this game. The reason for the change is possibly a different translation team. Look a Advance Wars Days Of Ruin vs Advance Wars Dark Conflict.

  • dude, really, thanks for making this video it helped me so much cuz I couldn't think of how to put the top and bottom screen in without stretching. I had to do it because finding Mesprit in Platinum requires using bottom screen :/

  • When the checkered-flag Mega-Picto comes down, tap it so that 4 rows fall down and the piece is cut off. Clear all Pictos in the palette and make sure you have 8 of them - quickly eliminate the bottom row and place it on the top. This will result in an easy scoring of x1-x8 and x9 8 times.

  • You're getting that? Nice.

Plus, thanks for the spam-strategy. But you can also get coins from Blocker-Pictos, remember that one!

Even still, I aim for the high score without the POW block.

Did you also notice that the POW and the Coin panels balance out with the palette? POW moves it down, Coins move it up (to 8, of course) and it's really funny to me.

I also have a strategy for the checkered-flag Mega-Pictos on Remix 8. I'll tell you in my next comment.

  • To quiksilverryvan: PiCOPiCT is the standard name for every reigion except North America, where it is PiCTOBiTS. I have the game, and it's fun!

  • I like this setup.
