A great number in my book. Can some expert confirm an urban rumour that Ray Parker Jnr played that distintive riff on the original?
I too think she looks great but if I had a choice of doing the wild thing with someone like this it would be Chaka Khan !!

I worked at Motown in the late 70's and was told by a song writter friend that Ray Parker Jr. played lead guitar on the track "Band of Gold" when he was just a teen. Hope that helps. (BOG was always one on my most favorites songs of all times.)

Excellent ! Thanks for that; off topic I know - but was lucky enough to see Ray Parker in the UK late 70's or 80's. Think he was touring with Bootsy Collins. He is on a crap tv advert in the UK now but a great act IMO. Wouldnt mind seeing Freda Payne tho' !!

Freda looks & sounds great...& most often has. This is definitely her most famous work...but she has done some great records besides this,,,DO the research ppl.... Her curse has probably been that she IS goregeous...& CAN SING. Un like 90% of these cows today claiming to be singers.
