haha the "balls of light" are called bombs, and the map-o-matic is called the mapper in this game. I like screwing the thugs-4-less leader over in the last fight by shooting him with acid mod equipped tankbots before he actually comes to fight you. this works only after you failed at fighting him once, it takes incredibly long to do, but it's just a cheap way to make the actual fight a little shorter.
