I wish I played piccolo. My mom said she'd buy it over her dead body. And she's only 43. I'll never get it at this rate.

My band teacher just transferred me to the piccolo from the flutes. But my flute is not yet steady yet.. And playing the piccolo is even tougher. Its either the sound just stopped or I over pitched it. Any ideas what to do?

Lungs of steel! There was this girl in my band that played the flute and she could hold a note for like 40-50 seconds. That might not be a ton compared to a pro, but it out classed me (the second/third longest) by about 10 seconds.

Greetings Mr. Davies, Thank you so much for posting this amazing master class.I only have one question and it is about lining up the head joint. I noticed that your head joint is rolled in a lot and my instructor always tells me not to do that. I'd love to know how much you rolled in or if there is any limit on doing that,?? your sound is amazing, I'd love to hear any advice from your experience...I hope you keep posting this master classes,, Thank U

The first time I smoked pot I played the flute fluently..I had gotten out of the Navy and took a few lessons from a teacher.I remember my wife saying what are you doing..you don't play flute?? I was inspired by Herbie Mann maybe that help..42 years later I am a great harmonica player..still play flute too..ya I still smoke,JC

Cool Master Class, and be sure to check Yossi Hamami concerto for piccolo "freakollo". I finally got it in piano reduction and it's the best thing ever.
