Just wondering... why is the original english speech not removed from the background while the russian dubbers are doing their work?

'cause in Russia most shows and soap operas from other countries are not being dubbed they just go with simultaneous translation. So you can hear both russian and foreign speech at the same time, just foreign (original) speech sounds in lower tones of course. By the way it can be very useful to improve your foregin language to compare translation and original sound.
