Tahoejimmy: I strongly disagree. The reason why Republicans have been losing so much ground is because they've allowed social/moral issues to dominate their message so much. They've permanently won the support of social conservatives, but they're losing others who might agree with the Republicans on issues like healthcare or spending but aren't part of the religious right. McDonnell is correct to pursue a strategy focused on economic growth and job creation.

McDonnell fits right into the extreme right-wing Republican mold phonies who support an endless, completely unnecessary war in Iraq, who wanted the government to keep a brain-dead Terry Schiavo on artificial life support indefinitely against the wishes of herself and her husband, and who oppose birth control, freedom of choice for women, the teaching of evolution, stem-cell research, who do not believe in dinosaurs, and oppose all measures to reduce global warming on ideological grounds.

No one and I mean no one has the courage to address the issue that black and white christians are completely divided in our land in politics. If the dems keep all african americans thinking that all republicans are good old boys and racists which is a lie, they will keep the most powerful voting block in the world (God's people) from voting as one. This is part of the problem why Republicans are losing so much ground in Virginia of all places and why I am not giving everything I have to supporting our candidates as I did President George W. Bush and others 10 years ago. The Va RP keeps throwing politicians up there that will not deal with the moral issues any more. We should be fighting back. The dems have successfully fooled christians and conservs to keep their mouths shut on the key issues.
