LIVE: Reverend William J. Barber, II of the NC NAACP gives the keynote address calling on North Carolina legislators to stand for equality and justice. He points out the regular inconsistencies between legislator rhetoric and votes on the floor calling on them to represent the people rather than the moneyed interests paying for their campaigns. HKonJ (Historic Thousands on Jones Street) was a gathering of several thousand people and sponsoring organizations in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina to tack a new legislative agenda on the People's House, the NC General Assembly on Jones Street. The NC-NAACP acted as host organization and the Reverend Dr. William J. Barber, II gave the keynote address at the Town Hall Meeting prior to kicking off the march to Jones Street. The crowd marched in near silence. More info at www.hkonj.com

  • All you rascists need to walk a mile in the shoes of any black person in America. As a white person who has lived as a minority it is an eye-opening experience. Most of you would be scared to death to have to live like they do. Get over yourselves.

The Rev. Barber recently hit it out of the park when he called out the current Tea Party as nothing more than a reincarnation of the Dixiecrats of yesteryear. So true, so true.

  • its a shame how the word reverend is abused nowadays, if there is anyone who doesnt deserve that word next to his name, its william barber.

  • @thetruthhurts70s So Damn True!

  • all im going to say to mr barber.you need to stop making trips to raleigh for photo ops.and today getting arrested for disrupting a school board meeting.i think he has forgotten he is from goldsboro and mr barber you losing sight of a town where a teenager was shoot to death.might i remind you mr barber you hometown falling apart and instead of wasting your time in raleigh and trying to be a president of the naacp.you need to try to figure the problems in you hometown of goldsboro.

  • one of the most racist pigs in America, but the black community doesn't see it....talk about reverse racism/....but since it's reversed....it ok :-)

  • probably one of the most racist men alive, does not deserve the title of reverend.

  • This man is a great speaker!! Recently spoke at my church! Awesome speaker
