Monster waves are the ones that seem dangerous, but even small waves can be hazardous. Hundreds of people are injured every year when they get slammed to the ocean floor. Susan Koeppen reports.

  • Shorebreak an international problem? Shorebreak is a wave breaking onto sand, how is this a problem? Oh ok.. let's try and stop shorebreaks all over the world. More like stupid/ignorant people are the problem.

  • Waves are like people, never underestimate a small one. I once made that mistake and have to walk with a cane for the rest of my life.

  • Only fucking tourists kooks that have no knowledge of the ocean get hurt from shorebreak. I mean only a kook will get paralyzed off a 4 foot closeout. Ive been in 8 foot closeouts and hit the sand on my side, its called landing flat fucking gypsys

  • Kooks.

  • LMAO @ "VICTIM OF SHOREBREAK"...i bet that pussy's little pencil neck got snapped by a three foot closeout. i like the fact that my favorite place to be in the world kills so many dumbfucks. the ocean will teach you respect no matter what.

  • Suzu why don't u swim out to waimea when it's cracking? Or are u scared of getting hurt? The best watermen get hurt shorebreak, peak or pit!!!!

  • if it keeps tourists out of locals' surf u can tell them that the loch ness monster will bite their heads off

  • @AFbodysurferlover ahaha u no it bro

  • Video title should be : Dangers of stupid tourists who think they can swim.

  • GUYS PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN DIVING INTO A WAVE YOU CAN BREAK YOUR NECK AND BECOME QUADRAPLEGIC! YOU HEAR ME? GO SIDE WAYS , NEVER FACE THE WAVE BUT ALONG THE WAVE. STAY AWAY FRO MSHORE BREAKS

  • I think most injuries come from swimmers who are catching the wave incorrectly. They need to stop heading straight to shore, but angle oneself along the wave's face to the right or left. When I was at Waimea, I heard a black kid pop up right next to me, "oww, that one hurt my neck." No shit. Don't go straight!
