If you are considering Usana for your home based business opportunity you need to evaluate the opportunity and develop a plan before you can make a decision. This review will show you what you need to know before you take the plunge.

There are 4 specific areas you want to educate yourself on when looking into a Multi-Level Marketing opportunity.

1) Company Leadership and Products.

2) The Market Place and Industry Timing

3) The Payment Plan

4) The Training System that is in Place.

Lets look at these one at a time with regard to Usana.

Company Leadership and Products

Usana is a large company that has been around for about 17 years. Its headquarters is located in Salt Lake City, UT. They specialize in hair care, health and fitness, personal hygiene and weight management. They have a huge amphitheater in Salt Lake City that host numerous concerts and they have contributed much to the city with their many charities. They are looked upon fondly in Salt Lake City for their positive influence.

Their products are good but the prices are not. You will pay at least twice as much for Usana Vitamins and Usana Suppliments and Health Products as you will for simular products at health stores. They do have a wide variety of choices but nothing you can't easily replace at your local GNC.

The biggest problem I see with Usana is their compensation plan.

Usana places almost all of it's priority on recruitment of distributors. They will say that the products are important, but in truth, the vast majority of the money is made by recruiting people into your organization.

If you are planning on having success in Usana, you had better have a good plan to build a huge team. In my experience, these types of MLMs almost always leave a lot of blood on the battle field and the loss is felt in the new recruit. As with every MLM, the people at the top are benefited while those at the bottom struggle and Usana appears to be more inequitable than most MLM companies.

Every product based MLM, like Usana, will present themselves as a business where you can make a lot of money and turn your Plan B into a Plan A. Those that are at the top are certainly doing quite well.

Timing:

Timing is superb for Multi-Level Marketing in general but it is not the same for every field of marketing. Your success still depends upon your ability to Market these services and this industry is competitive. In hard economic times like these, people are not loyal to product names, they are loyal to prices.

If people can buy these products elsewhere, they will always go cheaper.

The Payment Structure:

Im not going to spend a lot of time on this. The compensation package is a binary plan but it does require that you create a massive team in order to create any significant income, more so than most other companies. You will work harder for less with Usana in my opinion. The company is big enough that if you rise up in the ranks you would be positioned for some serious potential residual income with the Usana opportunity. It will be harder to get there however.

The Training Program:

This is where all MLM companies drop the ball. Usana is no exception. The leadership in this company are spitting out the same very out dated MLM tactics from the 80s. Since Network Marketing has become more mainstream, these techniques just dont work as efficiently. There is a different population out there and the new marketers can not and will not effectively recruit just from their family and friends.

The other issue with this is that your family and friend list they have you make probably does not contain valuable Network Marketers. So besides trying to sell your services and push your opportunity down their throats, straining your friendships, you also have an uphill battle to teach them to be Marketers.

If youre going to develop any Multi-Level Marketing Opportunity, you Absolutely need to become skilled at effective, modern methods and begin to leverage the Internet.

You will see many persons and a few good systems online that will instruct you how to sponsor successfully by using effective Internet Marketing Strategies. If done properly, these techniques will absolutely EXPLODE your USANA MLM.

  • The idiots below me are probably Usana puppets. They came across as a pyramid scam to me and I got the fuck out of the "meeting" as fast as I can when they tried to recruit me.

  • ....Well.....what can I say...

The best would be to say nothing because you don't know much about this Company....if you did, you would know that what you are saying is bullshit!!!!

You must be a pretty frustrated network marketer yourself.....I really feel sorry for you!!

  • @kingkongbassbeat We don't recruit, we sponsor

  • WHOO HOO! I just hit builder..... I am in this for 4 months! pretty good, if you can apply the knowledge they teach you!

  • Wow!!!That's the weakest analysis I've ever heard!

    Let's just look at product quality. You say GNC products compare to USANA's - yet the Industry bible, NutriSearch Corp's "The Comparative Guide to Nutritional Supplements" (compares 1600 products), rates your GNC at 1/2 to 2 1/2 out of 5 Stars. {NOTE: those 3 or less = expensive pee!}

USANA's = 5 STARs+Editor's Choice & described as the 'Gold Standard' - obviously you've absolutely zero understanding of what makes a high quality nutritional !

  • ty
