You're behind the times that's the problem. If you look around the country most away followers choose not to wear their colours. Why? Because it looks fucking embarrassing seing 30 year old plus blokes wearing replica shirts. I haven't worn a top since I was 16. Look at Man Utd, heir away fans all wear black practically. As usual, geordies aren't exactly known for trend setting.

Newcastle have the best fans in the world by far. We have more fans than most premier league clubs every week. We might be playing in a lower division but at least where gonna win something and not get beat every week and when we get back up where gonna do the double over you sad mackem bastards, see you next season-thats if you dont get relegated in the mean-time

Yes you go great attendances, but recently you've had Champions league football, few years in Europe, a challenge for the Premier League Title and spent 16 years in the top division.
We've been yo-yo-ing between division for around 50 years won one trophy 37 years ago, broke the record for worst points ever , twice, endless relegations. Year after year of disappointment...
And we still average crowds of 40,000. That my friend. Is top support.
