The South African government is facing possible court action over reports of radio active contamination. Residents and activists west of Johannesburg radio active contaminationare demanding that the alleged polluters, the gold mining industry, be held accountable. But the government is denying it's a big deal, and mines say they are trying to clean up. Kalay Maistry reports for Al Jazeera.
@unclepoepoe Its probably the dross from ore. Its only slightly more radioactive than normal. But when you have a boogeyman like "radioactive" paranoia overrides good sense. This is a gold mine so Id be FAR more worried about toxic heavy metals like thallium than the radioactive ones.
