The diamond represents the things we want in life. The drummer's blank stare is representative of our desire to obtain these things. The mediocre playing of the instruments is representative of human nature's tendencies to become distracted with what we don't have and to forget and be unappreciative what we do have. The two musicians disregard their immediate surroundings and stare off into the distance, as if there is something more important off in the distance.
