WHITE TIGERS "Facts VS Fiction"

All animals are inbreed, cats, dogs, horses, & wild animals.Golden Retrievers are inbred to have some specific recessive genes. Inbreeding increases homozygosity, which increases defects such as diseases etc. But its not as bad for animals as it is for humans. Human inbreeding on other hand, if you look at the European kings and the royal families, all of them inbred into their own royalty, that's why they all died young or had severe defects.

Is it the same for white lions?

Kind of, The white lion is occasionally found in wildlife reserves in South Africa and is a rare color mutation of the Kruger subspecies of lion (Panthera leo krugeri). It has been perpetuated by selective breeding in zoos around the world. White lions are not a separate subspecies and they have never been common in the wild.

If white tigers are wrong how can anyone justify domestic dogs. Imagine all the dogs that were drowned to get an American Kennel Club "perfect" Chihuahua. There is nothing wrong with domesticating a "big cat." Where do you thing domesticated cats came from. Also "Big" cat rescues are the first to show their cats at public attractions like fairs and trade shows and also to the first to tell you how wrong it is to keep them as pets.

There's no such thing as a domestic big cat, they will always have those wild instincts no matter what you do. Domestic cats have been domesticated for thousands of years, we just have to draw the line somewhere we can't try and domesticate every animal we want just to massage our ego, it isn't fair on the animal. Many big cat facilities do take their cats out in public, Big Cat Rescue DOES NOT, we also DO NOT breed. We are an accredited sanctuary.
