US Air Force Flapping Wing Micro Air Vehicle

US Air Force Research Laboratory video animation of a flapping-wing micro air vehicle (MAV). AFRL's goal is to develop a bird-sized MAV by 2015 and an insect-sized MAV by 2030. The bird-sized MAV would be air-deployed from a larger UAV so search for weapons of mass destruction, operating semi-autonomously for up to a week.

I hate to hear myself agreeing with you since you sound a bit kooky (no offense I just don't buy in to the whole big brother thing) but it's true, there is no HONEST military application for these. Actually deploying, operating, maintaining, and divulging useful information from such systems is far to complicated and cumbersome for combat scenarios. That said, this would be an ideal tool for the thought police...

. I gave the video 1* and it doesn't' deserve more. Video like this should be clear for all of us to hear the speaker. Unfortunately loud music was present and we couldn't understand the speaker more than 5%. If you want to pass your point threw, remove the music in its entirety now. One star rating is giving now which make it bad video and not recommended for viewing
