US Air Force Research Laboratory video animation of a flapping-wing micro air vehicle (MAV). AFRL's goal is to develop a bird-sized MAV by 2015 and an insect-sized MAV by 2030. The bird-sized MAV would be air-deployed from a larger UAV so search for weapons of mass destruction, operating semi-autonomously for up to a week.

Incorrect. It will charge. When you hang on a power-line you charge.
Its just that you have no ground so the current cannot flow THROUGH you, it is the flow of electricity that kills you not the electricity itself.

@deneco4 well if u wasnt that stupid, you will see this invent is very helpful for mankind, maybe bad advantage if ur a criminal or something, but we are takin the next step into the future :)

hahaha, harvesting energy from powerlines while sitting on them as a bird does.
that's... inspired!
and with the current fast-charge lithium-ion batteries you could fully re-charge with just a 5 minute "sit-down" on the powerline.
