Imagine being a woman in a men's prison. Alluvial Filmworks presents an award-winning and shocking documentary film - Cruel & Unusual. This documentary is an unflinching examination of transgender women in men's prisons. Five individuals describe their experiences undergoing inhumane and humiliating treatment including rape, violence, solitary confinement and denial of medical care.
These women don't deny they must serve their sentences, but are the human rights of these women violated? Should transgender inmates get medical treatment in prison? Should they receive female hormones, counseling or sexual reassignment surgery? Despite their crimes, this documentary asks if the punishment for their crime is indeed Cruel & Unusual. Cruel & Unusual is available on DVD at 10percent.com and Amazon.com

The person with the very deep voice should make some effort in being who he wants..talking with that extremely deep voice is not helping the situation..no shade tho
I speak like a normal guy and if I tried I could easily sound high-pitched..not annoying and shrill but high-pitched and slightly "girl sounding"....but obviously not convincing...but being dressed as a female and talking like that in public (no shade) is just weird....
May be weird but still doesnt change the fact they cant do it lol, if you can't do something at the end of the day you cant do it. Also with older transexuals if ytou havent started your transtition till later, its almost impossible to maintain a female pitch. I am a young transexual, and i myself talk natural female. But again we are not all the same and something i can do, doesnt mean the guy next door can. Just because you can do something doesnt mean the next person can. xx
Also like i said do you really think they would talk that way if they could? I feel terribly sorry for people who can't achieve certain things throughout there transition. Hope this helps x
I thought the idea of prisons was to keep dangerous people out of circulation to protect the rest of us. I didn't know it was to make their lives miserable or intolerable as added punishment. Some of these people will be released some day. How do you think they'll act then if they've been psychologically tortured while in prison??? It's worth remembering that in America prisons didn't exist among the tribes that existed for hundreds of years here.
They used to kill people for stealing a horse and the rest died so young that they didn't get to live long enough to commit the crimes that people do today. I've often wondered why they go to prison anyway? It must be a sickness. Gay or straight, common sense should tell people to just follow the law so that they wont need advocates and parole boards.
"The rest died so young" - I think you don't get statistics. Lots of children died and that brought the life expectancy down, but many people lived into their 70s and 80sif they avoided sickness.
yup..same diff..unfortunately for tranny's or anyone fro that matter, once they have that one way ticket to jail u lose all your rights to have a say in how u should be handled! fair or not!
