I had my first gig with my new head, a JET CITY AMPLIFICATION Valve head, The JCA20H.

These are a few clips from some solos from the gig, so you can get a feel for what this thing sounds like getting driven hard in a real live situation rather than all the bedroom demos that have gone up lately.

I just cant believe its only 20 watts. Plenty of volume for live work. This gig was at The Underworld in Camden, London which is a decent sized venue and the JCA20H was EASILY loud enough to play the place.
For anyone interested in the JCA20H, for the rhythm parts I was running straight into it with gain on full (9) and volume on about 7. I jumped on a Boss DS-1 for a bit of extra bite for the solos, but after listening back, Im not sure I needed that. I was running the JCA20H through an old Marshall 1960A cab that I borrowed of NINJA GUN, and playing my favourite LAG Roxane, my RS1000 loaded with Seymour Duncan Humbuckers.
Anyhow long live JET CITY AMPS and especially the JCA20H.

  • meganice gig!! do you think i can get a clean sound from this amp live and mic it ??? somthin clean for usin pedals

  • @rjtrejoa I don't think you could gig it if you wanted cleans, it gets quite crunchy well before it's that loud.

  • That was a good sounding video clip live...nice job! Looking forward to my JCA20 arriving...thinking about the depth mod though...

  • @WyldeMagiK Get some video up when it arrives :-)

  • you use a boss ds-1 as a boost?

  • @fender7682 Yeah, but when running the JCA flat out adding a DS-1 didn't make it any louder I don't think, but it was more "searing" if that makes sense.

  • Excellent

  • @njdnjdnjd I use it live all the time, most places like here it's mic'd up, but I have played with it un mic'd before.

I have another video where you can hear it unmic'd live through a borrowed 4x12

  • Wow great video!! That's the million dollar question can it be used live, and can it run a 412 cab!! Sure looks like it can here!! Was the cab mic'd through the pa?
